How f@cked is the NHS
Always thought the UK had something to be proud of with the NHS but after what has happened with my Uncle m not so sure…….

Had a lung infection, taken to hospital, fluid drained off his lungs told he needed some kind of operation and would be transferred to a London hospital the next day will stay overnight on a general ward.

That evening suffers a heart attack but they resuscitate him but its touch and go, and they need to send him to intensive care ASAP, problem is no beds available and not enough staff, a young doctor sees him briefly but he will have to wait…….He dies.

My Cousins are gutted and pretty angry, Hospital didn’t realise one of my Cousins is a consultant at another big hospital and as well as losing her Dad is demanding a report and answers as to how and why (had the young intern doctor been left to play god and decide who gets intensive care and who doesn’t?), Hospital has gone shtum, and wont comment until an autopsy has been done.

Aside from this devastating my family, its sad for the UK as apparently its not uncommon these days due to lack of beds and staff in many intensive care wards across the UK, oh and my family is in no way angry with the doctors and staff who did all they could or were forced into an impossible decision, the anger is at the government and local authority who run the hospital.

Life expectancy, UK vs. US:
🇬🇧 male: 79.4; 🇺🇸 male: 76.9
🇬🇧 female: 83.0; 🇺🇸 female: 81.6

Branded - is the US life expectancy number lower than the UK, given the predilection in the US, for people to be shot?

I saw that on telly this morning too. Of course that doesn't take into account the number of over-consuming fat bastards in USA or recent trends where UK might be catching them up...

Snowflakes should man up when they get ill. Stop clogging the system up with your petty illnesses and hypochondria. Realise you're dying and die a proper death at home with the family telling tales of yore.

By your own logic then, there's middle ground.

The fact is, the Tories put more in, yet more discontent from the left. What're they supposed to do?

And personally, I don't want my taxes raised to support it when it's in my opinion an abused system

Re: How f@cked is the NHS
You can't have it both ways. 'The crisis is called by us all getting too old and living too long' or 'The crisis is caused by too many immigrants'. Neither is right. Too many old people locking up beds is result of government cutting down on social care, so old people have no care for them when ready to leave hospital.
And as for immmigrants, most of these are here to work, contribute taxes that keep the NHS going, or even work in the NHS at the shit jobs nobody else wants.

"Yes willtell the record nhs investment that has been totally mismanaged by the buisness party."
-------------------------------------------

Except of course politicians in power only oversee the NHS from a budgetry position. The NHS is run by over-paid nationalised industry managements that make David Sullivan look highly competent...

It was the same when Labour were in power. The problem has been acerbated by letting 1/2 million immigrants in every year for donkey's years without increasing capacity.

The NHS is under funded and always has been and always will be if left to politicians. Labour are currently blaming the Tories as one of their only areas they feel they have an edge. Yet they were putting in massively less than the Tories and getting away with it.

Too much immigration too fast has filled the NHS tank to over-flowing and if you think putting Corbyn in power is the answer then you are really stupid. Money doesn't solve an overflowing tank. Turning the tap off does....

If people could actually accept those as distinct digital polar opposites and not simply the endpoints of a spectrum between them, we might get some movement.

They may well be described as "two sides of the same coin", but, no matter how often you toss that coin, they will ALWAYS be as far apart and opposite from each other as before - and they always will.

You do realise all the management in the NHS doesn’t change over with a government change don’t you and that the Health Secretary doesn’t actually run the the NHS himself, RM10?

Are they? I work with a lot of GPs and they absolutely don't say that. If I a GP has a spike in people going to A&E that's looked into, along with individuals.

Yes we can see the results of you not getting any medical attention for 12 years.

Someone should have pulled your life support plug ages ago.

Re: How f@cked is the NHS
It doesn't help that many GP receptionists are telling patients that can't get a GP appointment to 'go to A&E then' just to get rid of them.

Exactly what the system doesn't need!
